Tottenham join the race for Bundesliga winner on Man United, Liverpool radar

Tottenham have entered the race for the signature of Manchester United and Liverpool target Odilon Kossounou.

The Bayer Leverkusen defensive sensation has had an impressive rise in recent years and it has resulted in a lot of interest from top clubs across Europe. The defender has had an impressive season and he helped his side win the league title recently.

According to a report from Fichajes, Tottenham have joined Manchester United and Liverpool in their pursuit of the signature of the Ivorian international.

The North London club want to further bolster their defence despite having made two significant investments (Micky van de Ven and Radu Dragusin) since the arrival of Ange Postecoglou at the club last summer. The Australian manager wants to add another centre-back and Kossounou is one of the names on the club’s wishlist.

The 23-year-old is one of the most promising defenders in Germany and his performances for Leverkusen suggest that he has a bright future ahead. While the North London club are keen on adding him to their squad, they won’t find it easy with Liverpool and Manchester United in the mix.

The Reds are looking to strengthen their back line in the summer as they look to prepare for a new era under the guidance of Arne Slot. Meanwhile, Raphaël Varane is all set to leave Old Trafford and Manchester United are looking at Kossounou as a potential replacement.

The Red Devils are well-placed in the race for his signature but Liverpool seem determined to get their hands on the 23-year-old. They could be willing to spend €60 million to land him.

While Tottenham have entered the race for his signature, they will have to outmuscle their rivals financially and it won’t be easy.

Meanwhile, Kossounou’s contract at Leverkusen runs until 2026 which means the German club will be in a position of strength during negotiations making things more difficult for interested clubs.
