Report: Tom Brady’s ex Gisele Bündchen ‘deeply disappointed’ with jokes about marriage in Netflix roast

The roast of Tom Brady streamed live on Netflix Sunday and Brady’s ex Gisele Bündchen reportedly has some strong thoughts. According to PEOPLE, Bündchen is “deeply disappointed  by the disrespectful portrayal of her family on Sunday evening’s roast show.”

“As always, [Bündchen’s] priority is to support her children who were affected by the irresponsible content that was broadcasted,” a source told PEOPLE. Brady took insults from notable stars, including host Kevin Hart, Nikki Glaser and former teammates Drew Bledsoe, Rob Gronkowski, Julian Edelman and Randy Moss. Some roasters took aim at Brady’s failed marriage with Bündchen as well as her new boyfriend jiu-jitsu coach Joaquin Valente.

Brady and Bündchen filed for divorce on Oct. 28, 2022. The former couple shares two children: son Benjamin, 13, and daughter Vivian, 10. Brady, a seven-time Super Bowl champion quarterback, is also father to son John “Jack” Edward with ex Bridget Moynahan.

“This past week, Gisele has been tirelessly dedicated to aiding those in need in her home state of Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil, which is grappling with the worst flooding in its history,” the source told PEOPLE. “She was concerned about family affected by the devastating floods, so to hear her life being joked about was very disappointing.”

While the stars at the roast went after Brady and Bündchen’s marriage, there was one off-limits topic. Glaser recently told Howard Stern that their kids were not talked about during the roast.

“We all collectively just decided not to involve his kids too much in anything because they didn’t ask for that, so any kind of reference to anything with that we left off the table,” Glaser told Stern, per Today.com. “So I couldn’t say, ‘Tom, hopefully we make out at the after-party. You can pretend I’m your son.’ You know, the reference to him kissing his son. My dad kissed me on the lips as a kid and throughout my adulthood, so I really related to that and never judged it any way, other than I thought it was a cute moment that we all took too seriously.”

The roast was first announced in May 2022 and was set to take place last year. Brady was an executive producer on his roast and will help produce future roasts on Netflix.

“To quote my good friend, Marshawn Lynch… ‘I’m just here so I won’t get fined.’ ” Robbie Praw, Netflix vice president of stand-up and comedy, said at the time, adding the streaming service “can’t wait to burn three-time Super Bowl–losing quarterback Tom Brady, who only went back to the NFL in order to delay this roast.”
